January 30 Even if you don't see me...Today I was in class.
We were learning a new procedure, and this subject is not my best--in fact, it's my worst, so I asked for clarification, (in laymen's terms) "Professor, why do we choose this number for one procedure, and another number on the other procedure?" The professor looks at me and slowly and carefully explains, "well, as I explained before, we NEVER use this procedure in our field. The only reason I am showing you this particular procedure is so that you all can understand the next one."
Okay, makes sense, I think. Before the professor can get back to the lesson, a guy behind me (who must've not heard my question the first time), asks, "Professor, why do we choose this number for one procedure, and another number on the other procedure?"--literally, the exact same question that I asked less than 5 seconds ago. The professor stops and smiles broadly. Slowly, the professor turns, face a lit. "[the student's name]," the professor exclaims, "that is an excellent question! Class, why don't we stop for a second and think about why that is..."
The class stops and thinks. So do I:
