You Got Her Body - MSN Lifestyle - Mind, Body & Soul

Have you ever said something and mid-sentence realized that you sounded just like your mom?!? You might have got more than that from her--her eyes, her smile, and yes, her butt! This is a clever little article that I found on msn.com about women inheriting their mother's bodies, and in some cases their body image issues. Enjoy!

Dieting most always fails in the long run - Diet & Nutrition - MSNBC.com

Okay, since no one seems to believe me when I say it, I've pulled MSNBC and their research group to tell you the same! DIETING DOESN'T WORK! DIETING DOESN'T WORK! DIETING DOESN'T WORK! Got it? That doesn't mean your hopeless-- better in fact, you have an opportunity to change your lifestyle, your daily habits and behaviors, and you can keep that sleek physique forever--and guess what, no rules about what you can't eat or must eat. Just don't overdo it, and add some fruit, veggies, low-fat dairy, whole grains, and lean protein in the mix, along with a healthy dose of daily exercise--you look better, you feel better, and the best part--it's forever! MSNBC.com also has some great tips, click on the link below to read the entire article.

Here are some of their strategies:

    — Eat breakfast daily.

    — Eat a moderately low-fat, high-carbohydrate diet.

    — Keep track of progress through weigh-ins, food diaries.

    — Get LOTS of exercise — 60 to 90 minutes daily.

Organic vs. conventional: What do experts say? - CNN.com

I am a big advocate of fresh, whole, nutritious food in it's most pure, unrefined form. I try to buy Organic whenever possible, as I like the idea of the food that I AM PUTTING INTO MY BODY having to pass though certain standards and regulations, as well as feeling like I am doing something that is healthier for the environment. With that said, there still does not seem to be a lot of firm evidence pointing to higher nutrition content or reduced environmental harm. Here's an article that addresses both issues and sheds a little scientific light on the subject. Just some food for thought...no pun intended.

How To Kick That Spare Tire - MSN Health & Fitness - Diet & Fitness

Well, summer is just a hop, skip, and jump away--sweaters are great for hiding that bulge in the winter, but would be a bit obvious now. I get questions all the time about how to get abs, a flat stomach, or a smaller waist. My answer is always the same: diet and exercise. There is no way to spot reduce abs alone--you can have the strongest abs in the gym--the tough part is getting them to show. Here's a great start!:
